Select Grade: Hard Maple is manufactured in principally in the Middle Atlantic and Great Lake States. The heartwood is usually light reddish brown, but sometimes considerably darker. The sapwood is commonly white with a slight reddish-brown tinge. Hard Maple has a fine, uniform texture. It is heavy, strong, hard, stiff and resistant to shock. The grain is generally straight. Hard Maple is used in flooring, furniture, cabinets, cutting boards, pianos, billiard cues, handles, bowling alley, gymnasium and dance floors, and more. Country Grade: Knots and defects give the floor a country, or an Antique look, and can be enhanced even more by skip planning to show saw marks, adding to the flavor. |
